A New Name and New List of Winners for the 100 Top Hospitals®

The Thomson 100 Top Hospitals is now the Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals. The new name follows the Thomson Corporation's acquisition of Reuters Group PLC, forming a new company, Thomson Reuters. The name was announced for the first time at the 100 Top Hospitals Summit, June 4-6, 2008, at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Hospitals Receive Special Recognition
The 100 Top Hospitals program gave special recognition to the following hospitals at the Summit. These hospitals have achieved exceptional performance, earning a 100 Top Hospitals National award at least 10 times.

  • Evanston Northwestern Healthcare, Evanston, Ill.
    (12-time)
  • EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, Ohio (11-time)
  • Munson Medical Center, Traverse City, Mich. (10-time)
  • Hillcrest Hospital, Mayfield Heights, Ohio (10-time)

2007 100 Top Hospitals Performance Improvement Leaders Study
On Aug. 11, 2008, Thomson Reuters will release the 2007 100 Top Hospitals®: Performance Improvement Leaders study including a list of this year's winners. The study identifies hospital management teams that have led their organizations to achieve the fastest rate of consistent organizational improvement over five years, based on objective national benchmarks. Winners will also be announced in the Aug. 11 issue of Modern Healthcare.
